Meet Som Dutt
For over seven years, I’ve dedicated myself to a singular mission: helping survivors navigate the shadowy terrain of covert narcissism and psychological manipulation. As both a certified coach and published author, I’ve walked alongside more than 1,400 individuals on their journey from trauma to transformation.
The Work That Moves Me
My research delves into the hidden architecture of toxic relationships—the subtle mechanisms that keep people trapped in cycles of confusion and pain. Through careful examination of manipulation patterns including gaslighting, projection, triangulation, and trauma bonding, I’ve developed frameworks that illuminate what was previously invisible. From smear campaigns to love-bombing, from blame shifting to hoovering, my work translates complex psychological warfare into clear, actionable understanding.
An Unconventional Path
My journey began unexpectedly in 2016 on Quora, where curiosity led me to explore questions that haunted me. Within months, my answers resonated with millions—eventually surpassing 100 million views and generating substantial income through brand collaborations and the platform’s Partner Program. By 2021, I was earning over $2,000 monthly while working barely two hours each day.
But something felt hollow.
I held a degree in Science and Technology, yet my mind kept circling back to questions about human behavior, manipulation, and the enigma of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. In January 2022, I made a choice that seemed financially reckless but spiritually necessary—I abandoned predictable income to pursue what actually mattered.
I immersed myself in Nietzsche’s philosophy, a long-postponed intellectual love affair. Shortly after, I began translating those insights through the lens of narcissism on Medium, publishing over 300 articles in rapid succession. To create space for this work, I walked away from a business generating $3,000 monthly. My writing income in those first seven months? A mere $500.
The numbers didn’t matter. I had finally found my voice.
What I Stand For
Six principles guide everything I do:
Living deliberately and slowly creates space for genuine joy—rushing through life means missing it entirely.
Certain work finds its person—some ideas won’t exist unless you specifically bring them into the world.
Movement matters—minimize sitting, maximize motion, especially outdoors where the body and mind can breathe.
Follow what stirs you—passion isn’t optional for meaningful work; it’s the entire point.
Selective disgust over universal hatred—while I harbor no ill will toward people, certain behaviors and systems deserve our revulsion.
Art demands respect—creators should never be reduced to instruments serving wealth and commerce; their work deserves dignity and fair compensation.
The Writing Philosophy
I write exclusively about what captivates my attention, regardless of algorithms, trends, or monetization potential. My work aims to provoke genuine reflection on narcissism and human manipulation—not to confirm biases or offer easy answers.
The people who find value in my writing share a particular restlessness—an inability to settle for mediocrity or coast through their days. They’re driven by an internal standard that demands something meaningful from each 24-hour cycle. If that describes you, you’re exactly who I write for.
Let’s Connect
My analytical training meets my fascination with the human condition in this work. If you’re interested in exploring narcissism beyond surface-level observations, in understanding the philosophy behind manipulation, or in recovering your authentic self after psychological trauma—I’d welcome the conversation.
