This is not a quiz that asks how you feel. This is a narcissistic gaslighting detector tool that reads what they actually said.
Paste any conversation. Text messages, emails, DMs, or just upload your screenshots directly. This free gaslighting detector performs forensic-level analysis of your real words in seconds. It scans for 12 documented manipulation patterns including DARVO, stonewalling, blame-shifting, memory manipulation, and emotional invalidation.
Here is what makes this gaslighting detector different from everything else out there. It assumes innocence first. It requires strong evidence through five verification gates before it flags anything. Every single finding comes with an alternative innocent explanation so you can judge the full picture yourself. It honestly analyzes both sides of the conversation, and if it detects concerning patterns from your side too, it will tell you directly. It names the exact clinical tactics used in narcissistic abuse. And then it gives you actual boundary-setting responses you can say in your next conversation.
No sign up. No data stored. No quiz. Just paste your conversation and get the truth. Whether that truth is a score of 12 or a score of 85, both answers matter.

How this analysis works and what the scores mean
How we score
This tool assumes your conversation is normal and requires strong evidence to flag anything. Every finding passes through five verification gates. Most everyday arguments score between 0 and 20 — that is a good, useful result.
Scoring is based on severity (how clearly manipulative), confidence (whether evidence is unambiguous), and pattern (isolated vs systematic).
Score ranges
0 – 15: No concernNo manipulation detected. Healthy communication or normal disagreement.
16 – 30: LowSome concerning language found, but each instance has a plausible innocent explanation.
31 – 55: ModerateClear manipulation tactics present. Harder to explain as miscommunication.
76 – 100: SeverePervasive, deliberate manipulation. Professional support strongly recommended.
Why we show alternatives
For every finding, we provide an innocent explanation. Context matters enormously. When the tool says “high confidence,” you know it already considered and rejected the innocent explanation.
Why counter-analysis exists
This tool analyzes both sides. If it detects concerning patterns from the submitter, it says so directly. Awareness of your own patterns is equally valuable for healing.
The 12 patterns
Reality denial — Denying events. Memory manipulation — Rewriting history. Emotional invalidation — Dismissing feelings. Blame shifting — Making it your fault. Truth denial — Lying about facts. Trivializing — Minimizing concerns. Diversion — Refusing to engage. Isolation — Turning others against you. Projection — Accusing you of what they do. Compassionate manipulation — Weaponizing care. Undermining — Attacking confidence. Selective forgetting — Convenient amnesia.
Important: This tool identifies language patterns in text. It cannot assess intent, tone of voice, or relationship history. A high score signals to seek support, not a diagnosis. A low score does not invalidate your experience. If you are unsafe, contact a professional regardless of any score.
